ABOUT FAT MATT

Matt Smith is a West Texas entrepreneur, pastor, rancher and Spirit-led servant shaped by the freedom to earn a living, a foundation of faith, and strong family values. Born and raised in Abilene, Matt built Fat Matt Roofing, one of the region’s most known roofing companies, and later launched My Roofing Supply to serve local contractors. His businesses have served nearly every county in TX-19 and supported families and nonprofits across the region.

Matt has served as a pastor, volunteered in crisis pregnancy support, led street evangelism, and participated in mission trips around the world. He believes ministry happens everywhere, and his heart is simply to love people and follow the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Matt and his wife, Kyera, have been married 22 years and are raising five children with strong faith, entrepreneurship, and West Texas values. He is running for Congress to bring biblical wisdom to America’s toughest problems, restore accountability, secure American energy, and stop Washington from spending our children’s future.

Your contribution goes directly toward voter outreach, and the grassroots work it takes to win TX-19.

WHAT FAT MATT IS FIGHTING FOR

Secure the Border and Protect Texas Communities

Matt will work with President Trump to restore proven border security policies, stop cartel trafficking, and end illegal immigration. He believes communities across Texas deserve law and order and a secure border.

Restore Fiscal Responsibility and Provide Affordability for West Texas Families

West Texans should be able to raise their children and put food on their table without going into debt. From Abilene to Lubbock, families feel the impact of Washington’s spending every time they buy groceries or fill up their trucks. Matt will fight for lower taxes, fewer regulations, and an end to the reckless spending that drives inflation and mortgages our children’s future.

Invest in Rural Infrastructure & Protect West Texas Agriculture

Reliable roads, broadband, and water systems are vital for the future of TX-19. Matt will champion improvements that support farmers, ranchers, small towns, and local businesses. He believes federal dollars must be spent transparently so rural communities receive real value and long-term stability. Matt understands the importance of West Texas’ agriculture economy and will protect farmers and ranchers from Washington DC overreach.

Protect Children and Support Parental Rights

Parents should always have a say in their children’s education. Matt will oppose federal mandates that push gender ideology, protect girls’ sports, and support curriculum transparency and school choice. Schools should teach core skills and reflect the values of families in TX-19.

Unleash American Energy

West Texas is a major driver of America’s energy strength. Matt will work to expand domestic production of oil and gas, remove burdensome regulations, help Texas lead in nuclear energy, and reverse anti-energy policies that raise prices and hurt workers. Strong energy production means a stronger nation.

Defend Faith, Family, and Freedom

Matt believes faith is the cornerstone of a strong nation. He’ll uphold pro-life policies, safeguard religious liberty, and fight for the conservative principles West Texans believe in. He strives to lead with love, patience, and kindness, living out the call to love God, love people, and always do the right thing.
